“I looked at the Lord on the throne of heaven, and the dove of peace flew into my heart. I looked at the dove, and it flew away.”

Curving through the waves is the Latin phrase “Saevis tranquillus in undis”, meaning calm amid raging waters. Above, a cloud bears the letters CHRS, an early abbreviation for Christ.

This piece reflects the quiet truth that peace is found not by denying the waves, but by lifting our eyes to Christ. As the waters rage below, we are seen, heard, held, and kept by a Presence that has been steady all along. Faith is not escape. It is being known by a loving Savior.
